Office of the Provost - A message from Provost Moore: Update on A&S divisional leadership

Dear faculty and staff of the College of Arts & Sciences:

As we welcome Dean Krutz, who begins work on July 6, we want to provide immediate support to him and to the college’s ongoing reorganization work. As part of that effort, we are moving ahead to secure divisional leadership for the college in both the short and long terms.

A key step in this process is to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, so per the law’s requirements, we are posting the positions of “transitional deans”—interim leaders who will lead the divisions until we can complete searches for the permanent posts—for three full days. The current associate deans of the divisions are encouraged to apply for the transitional dean roles.

Moving ahead, Dean Krutz will be scheduling town hall meetings with each division in August to discuss the best way to conduct searches for the deans of divisions, and the timeline and process of those searches—the default presumption being that these searches will be conducted at a national level.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support for, and participation in, the reorganization of the college.

Sincerely,

Russ
