Project Topic: Spaceflight Consistent Loading System for Astronaut Training
Description: The CLASS team will be designing, constructing, and testing a loading system intended to aid astronaut balance training in microgravity environments. Machines and exercises to prevent muscle atrophy have been created, but existing systems do not apply load to the astronaut in a manner analogous to gravity. The aim is to design a system that will provide a precise, predetermined load normal to a static platform to more accurately simulate gravity in a microgravity environment.
