Forever Buffs CenterWest provides a forum for alumni of the Center of the American West’s certificate program and other interested former CU students and community members to gather, share their experiences, maintain ties with the Center, network amongst each other and within the broader CU and Center community, and provide support for the Center, its students, and the wider western community.
Each Forever Buffs club is run by volunteers to bring a CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ experience close to home no matter where home is. Join us for club events, volunteer opportunities, and more.

the Center of the American West
CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Center of the American West was founded in 1986 by Patty Limerick, and CU Law Professor Charles Wilkinson and serves as a forum committed to the civil, respectful, and problem-solving exploration of important and often contentious public issues.
In its Academic Programs, the Center of the American West sponsors a wide range of opportunities, giving students the chance to venture beyond classrooms and textbooks and to interact with leading scholars, writers, public servants, and faculty members. These opportunities include the Western American Studies Certificate Program, Grace Kempton Student Dinners, Internships, Hoffman Scholars, Thompson Awards for Western American Writing, and the Beardsley Family Scholarship.
- To provide a means of networking for alumni of the Center’s Certificate program and other academic endeavors.
- To provide alumni-specific information and events to alumni. To provide mentorship and a job and internship network to current students.
- To provide alumni support to the Center and its mission.
- To provide greater voice to alumni on the Center’s Board of Directors
