Jessica Misiorek Receives a FLAS & Vassar Fellowship

Jessica Misiorek (PhD Cultural Anthropology in Progress) receivedÌý a FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Fellowship.ÌýFLAS fellowships administered by the Center for Asian Studies (CAS) are awarded competitively to students studying modern Asian languages. The U.S. Department of Education (ED) funds and oversees these awards, under the provisions of Title VI of the Higher Education Act. The fellowship will cover tuition and living costs for one year of coursework at
CU, and summer language study abroad.

Jessica was also awarded aÌýgeneral unrestricted Vassar Fellowship. Vassar Fellowships are for one year of support and may not be deferred. Seniors and Vassar graduates may apply. The fellowship funds have been established by friends of the college to encourage Vassar graduates to continue their studies in the United States or abroad, either in work toward an advanced degree or in the creative arts.Ìý
