"The RNA Society is excited to announce that Dr. Roy Parker has been selected to receive the 2025 RNA Society / Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press Distinguished Research Mentor Award. Dr. Parker is an HHMI investigator and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Colorado in ��«��Ƶ, USA. As a mentor he focuses on clarity of thought and effective communication. For over three decades, Roy has cultivated a lab culture focused on the development of curiosity, rigor, and scientific integrity for his trainees. He advocates for the development of a broad skill set by graduate students during their training (2012 Mol Cell 46:377) while recognizing that every mentee is an individual who needs their own personalized approach. Dr. Parker is well known for his guidance and sponsorship - always willing to provide input into the scientific direction one should take, while also stimulating individuals to take their own path. The VinFuture Foundation was established in 2020 on International Human Solidarity Day. They award the VinFuture Prize, which honors scientific breakthroughs and innovation solving the toughest global challenges with real-life applications. Bowman Endowed Professor Jason Burdick of the BioFrontiers Institute and the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine.

"NAM membership reflects the height of professional achievement and commitment to service," and Jason was chosen "for innovative biomaterials and biofabrication techniques and their application as in vitro models of biological and disease processes, as well as therapies for the repair and regeneration of injured musculoskeletal and cardiovascular tissues."

Jason's impactful work has also resulted in him being named among the Top 1% of Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics/Web of Science and founding multiple companies to translate his lab's work into biomedical solutions.

The NAM Class of 2024 includes 100 new members elected by current members, bringing total membership to over 2400.
