Lisa Schwartz

As a community outreach program manager, Lisa supports faculty, staff and students in the development of partnerships and program strategies for work with communities around Colorado. She leads our office's arts and humanities initiative and community development and design initiative, and the engaged arts and humanities graduate student scholars program (EAH scholars). Lisa also co-manages the office's community impact and micro grants and community engagement coffee hours and authors engaged scholars interviews.
Lisa has a doctorate in education from the University of Arizona, and was a postdoctoral researcher and research director in the CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ School of Education before joining the Office for Outreach and Engagement in 2016. Lisa has longstanding experience as an outreach professional, educator, educational researcher and social scientist. In her prior work, Lisa designed and researched digitally mediated learning environments and educational resources that leveraged university and community resources. Lisa’s work focuses on STEM/STEAM, new media/new and multimodal literacies, and community/school gardens with learners of all ages and a focus on Latino and lower-income communities. While committed to living in the American West, Lisa also has lived in Latin America and Europe. Lisa’s multidisciplinary experience serves her well in her current endeavors.
