I am Alazar Gebremichael, a recent graduate from the University of Colorado, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ with a degree in Integrated Physiology and a minor in philosophy.

During my time at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, I served as a peer mentor for students living in the Lucile B. Buchanan learning living community, and as the vice president of the African Student Association (ASA), where I organized events to promote African culture and foster connections within the African and African American community.

Born in Ethiopia and immigrating at a young age, I have a passion for mentorship and community building especially regarding the Black experience at a predominantly White institution. It is my firm belief that through the integration of Black Studies in higher education, there can be a positive change in the systematic discrimination in the country and the ideologies it informs. Through my work at the CAAAS, I will strive make this a reality.
