Antoinette Kendrick

Antoinette Kendrick received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Oklahoma in 2022. She started her first year of doctoral studies in Media Studies at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in the Fall of 2023 and will be entering the Fall 2024 semester as a second-year PhD student/GPTI. Antoinette is interested in investigating the social impact of exposure to various forms of graphic media content across age groups and analyzing the disproportionate harm that vulnerable populations face in today’s digital landscape. Her ultimate goal is to engage in interdisciplinary, applied research that informs digital media literacy campaigns, curriculums, interventions, and policy initiatives that protect digitally active youth, esp. youth from culturally diverse backgrounds. Additionally, her research endeavors to support youth by providing parents/practitioners with the necessary training and tools to responsibly guide youth in navigating online spaces.
