Ava Mamary (she/her) is a first year MA student and Teaching Assistant in the Communication Department studying Rhetoric and Culture. She obtained her BA at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a dual degree in Communication and English. Her research interests lie in the intersection of critical rhetoric and cultural media studies, including STS (science, technology and society) research, and how that impacts policy, political communication, and equity in specific publics.
