- CMCI students who have completed at least 12 credit hours of CU «Ƶ course work for a letter grade in any single semester and achieve a term grade point average of 3.75 or better are included on the Dean’s List. They receive a notation on their transcript and a letter from CMCI Founding Dean Lori Bergen. Congratulations to all honorees!
- Students, their families, friends and CMCI faculty gathered last week to celebrate graduating. At CMCI's Recognition Ceremony May 12, 2023, nearly 700 students crossed the stage, accepted their diplomas and became alumni. In total, more than 800 bachelors, master’s and doctoral students completed their degrees.
- The Daily He(a)rd has become the first CMCI student team to win the Bateman Case Study Competition. The team's win is not just a first for CMCI, but for Colorado. The team tackled the issue of misinformation for the News Literacy Project.
- A new study sheds light on the growing phenomenon of “patient influencers,” confirming they work closely with pharmaceutical companies and routinely provide advice about drugs to followers.
- When Matthew Mendoza first enrolled at CU «Ƶ, he didn’t expect to work alongside marketing giants. This past summer, he worked with UM Worldwide on numerous projects, notably, including one for IHOP.
- Next time you drive along I-70 near Idaho Springs, you’ll see an eye-catching billboard encouraging smart investing. That’s due to a new collaboration between the Colorado Division of Securities and CMCI students.
- The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design and its students earned top recognitions this year through the statewide One Club Denver student competition and the PRNews Education A-List.
- The Colorado chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) honored Professor Dawn Doty of the College of Media, Communication and Information and CMCI alumna Nora Thomas. Doty was recognized with the 2022 Swede Johnson Lifetime Achievement and Thomas is the 2022 Joe Fuentes Rookie of the Year.
- CMCI scholars traveled to Michigan this month for the 2022 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication conference, bringing home top awards and presenting 20 peer-reviewed papers.
