Denver resident Gil Selinger (Law’08) joined the law firm Fairfield and Woods. He provides full-service advice to corporate clients and counsels clients on state and federal securities laws and raising capital for their businesses. Before studying law, Gil worked as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York and in federal politics and business management.

After wrapping up 10 months of community service, Katherine Adams (Ling’09) graduated from the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps Pacific Region. The members worked in teams throughout the U.S., and Katherine’s team provided support to Missouri and Montana residents affected by tornados and floods. She lives in Frederick, Calif.

Rakefet Megory (MCDBio’09) and Matthew Orobona (MCDBio’10) plan to get married in July. Rakefet is enrolled in the veterinary program at Colorado State University where Matthew is attending graduate school. The wedding will take place in ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.

Mark Arnoldy (Psych’10) is founder of NepalNUTrition, which has used peanut butter to help feed nearly 1,700 children in Nepal. He told the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Camera that rising peanut butter costs may affect people’s ability to donate the product. He partnered with Nut.rients, a ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ company with the intent of making peanut butter and supplying it to malnourished children.

Providing people with justice is a passion for Broomfield resident David Hinojosa (Hum’10). While at CU, he devoted himself to helping people and communities with a specific focus on ending male violence and sexual assault. For his efforts, he was recognized at the Community Action Program’s 23rd annual Multicultural Awards event in Longmont. He is a staff member at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Moving to End Sexual Assault where he works as the bilingual services coordinator.

Monique Terrasas (Mktg’10) joined ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s FreeWave Technologies as marketing coordinator. She is responsible for executing and reporting on marketing plans and projects. Prior to this position she worked at the Denver marketing company Explore Communications.

After graduating Kara Zucker (PolSci’10) joined the Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer. She serves in the most western region of El Salvador in Ahuachapan. Follow her experiences at karazucker.blogspot.com.

The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability named Amanda Kass (MGeog’11) research and policy specialist for pensions and local government where she heads the center’s Illinois Retirement Security Initiative. The Chicago-based nonprofit organization aims to ensure that tax, spending and economic policies are fair for everyone. While at CU, Amanda’s master’s thesis focused on post-earthquake reconstruction efforts in Haiti, underscoring the importance of fiscal policies in ensuring the public sector has the capacity to deliver services.

College was much more than academics for Anita Lowe (IntPhys’11). While pursuing her degree, she taught English to middle school students in China, held a medical internship in Costa Rica, volunteered with earthquake disaster relief in Peru and studied in Italy. The Denver resident plans to become a physician and possibly work for Doctors Without Borders, an organization that works to bring quality medical care to people in need throughout the world.
