Todd is writing various works for musicians around the world, including a percussion concerto, an English horn concerto and another opera. He lives in Midland, Penn.

The matrimonial law firm Siegel, Reilly & Conlon hired听Ross Kaufman听(Engl鈥�99) who has been practicing family, civil and criminal law since 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a solo practitioner at his own firm. He lives with his wife and daughter in Stamford, Conn.

Lieutenant commander听Lance Tinstman听(Mktg鈥�99) and his wife Leah welcomed their first child, Lawrence Whitney Tinstman II, to their family in February. Lance is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Coast Guard and he and his family relocated to Hawai鈥檌 from Washington, D.C., in June.

The听New York Times听featured the love story and July 2011 wedding of听Jeffrey Blaugrund听(IntlAf鈥�99) and his bride Sarah Silverman. Jeffrey is a Tibco Software executive from Albuquerque who moved to New York City where the couple resides.

CU Cleantech is a way for researchers, students and industries to connect and collaborate on new inventions in the clean technology industry.

On Jan. 30听Lori Strongin听(Comm, Engl鈥�01) released her debut young adult novel听Bite Me: Or the Obvious Title for a Novel a Vampire and a Werewolf听(Mundania Press). She also is a writing conference director and a 鈥渟lush reader鈥� who reads unsolicited queries and manuscripts for an agency in New York.

Big dreams remained strong for skier听Kelley McMillan听(Anth鈥�02) who took classes, read books, hired guides and trained to ski Wyoming鈥檚 Grand Teton. Kelley was first inspired to climb and ski Grand Teton after seeing a photo of her uncle atop the 13,770-foot peak. According to an April article in听The Denver Post, Kelley and her guide planned to ski the Grand in May and if successful 鈥渋t will be the first female-guided, female-client descent of this ski mountaineering classic.鈥�

On July 7听Scott Sammons听(Mgmt, Thtr鈥�02) will marry Shannon Emery in Longmont, Colo. Scott is a real estate broker.

Filmmaker听Todd Nims听(Comm鈥�03) is involved in producing听PUSH Tunisia, a skateboard 鈥渁rtivism鈥� film project featuring a multinational group of skateboarders, street artists and volunteers on a trip to Tunisia, 11 months after the revolution. The project was covered by听The Guardian听newspaper and听Rolling Stone听(Middle East Edition). Todd lives in El Centro, Calif.

Business reporter for the听葫芦娃视频 Camera听Alicia Wallace听(Jour鈥�03) won an award from the Colorado Associated Press Editors and Reporters in the investigative and business story categories. The story 鈥淎n Eye on CEO Pay鈥� surveyed the salaries of several CEOs in 葫芦娃视频 and Broomfield counties. Alicia lives in 葫芦娃视频.

CU couple听Sarah Mercer Anderson听(BioChem鈥�03, PhDPharm鈥�07) and听Shaun Anderson听(ChemEngr鈥�03) welcomed a son, Cole Patrick Anderson, on Nov. 18. The family lives in Denver and says they are doing great.

The Fender Musical Instruments Corp. recruited听Jason Merz听(Mktg鈥�03) to work in the marketing division at their corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz. He worked at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago prior. He landed the marketing position after many years of hard work in pursuing his greatest passion, music.

The National Academy of Music named听Mike Barnett听(PhDMus鈥�04) winner of the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition for his piano concerto,听Lucifer Rising. Barnett is serving as composer-in-residence with the Fauxharmonic Digital Orchestra in Boston. He has performed at many major venues, and in addition to composing, Mike records regularly as a heavy metal drummer.

Director of opera at the University of Alabama at Birmingham听Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk听(PhDMus鈥�04) was honored by the National Opera Association for her production of Benjamin Britten鈥檚听The Burning Fiery Furnace. It placed first nationally among other universities and colleges in the opera production competition. She lives in Fultondale, Ala.

Race director for 葫芦娃视频 Racing听Lance Paniguitti听(Hist鈥�05) took over coordination of the Superior, Colo., Morgul Classic. 葫芦娃视频 Racing will partner with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge to increase exposure for amateur cycling. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e going to help market our event through their media channels 鈥� they have that broad audience,鈥� Lance told the 葫芦娃视频听Camera. In January CU alums听Scott Washburn听(Fin鈥�06),听Bob Wilson听(Fin鈥�06) and听John Wilson听(Jour鈥�06) launched their startup winery in Chicago. Winestyr is a new wine platform that puts consumers directly in touch with wineries via the internet to facilitate sales. The model is a greener channel to purchase wine and has received positive responses from both wineries and consumers.

In the book听Dig This Gig听by Laura Dodd (Kensington Publishing)听Drew Chafetz听(Econ鈥�06) is featured as one of the 32 individuals who is 20-something and navigating various career routes. He lives in Washington, D.C.

For three years听Elise Crane听(IntlAf鈥�06) represented a media organization in Prague before pursuing a master鈥檚 degree. In May she graduated from Tufts鈥� Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and immediately began training with the Foreign Service. She is the press officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala, Uganda. Elise vividly remembers attending a 2003 presentation on the Foreign Service in CU-葫芦娃视频鈥檚 Hale Science building during which she swore she鈥檇 never go through the hassles of the exam process. She writes she is glad she changed her mind.
