Liz Schmidt

Liz is an accomplished leader and mental health professional with 20 years of experience in integrated mental health settings. Currently serving as the Director of Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), Liz has successfully implemented initiatives that enhance integrated care and foster collaboration across campus services. A strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, Liz champions efforts to create a supportive environment for all students, faculty and staff.

In her previous role with CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, Liz was the Assistant Director of the Behavioral Health Team and Eating Concerns Coordinator where she led a team of behavioral health providers doing integrated work throughout Health and Wellness. Prior to coming to CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, Liz had a successful career in forensic psychology and served as Clinical Director for a forensic psychology practice providing mental health services to clients who were experiencing incarceration, as well as those under community supervision. With advanced training in clinical supervision and a focus on anti-racism and social justice advocacy, Liz is dedicated to elevating the standards of mental health care and fostering professional development. Liz continues to influence the future of mental health care through mentorship, training, and supervision.
