With Polaris Dawn’s launch, Colorado scientists will study vision changes in space

During SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn's multi-day high-altitude mission, which rocketed to space on Sept. 10, the crew will conduct health impact research to better understand spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome (SANS). Researchers from CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus are right there with them. Or at least their equipment and expertise will be. The research is a collaboration between Allie Hayman, associate professor in the Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, and Prem Subramanian, chief of neuro-ophthalmology at the CU School of Medicine. Read more
