Samiha Singh, CU SWE president

Hello!

My name is Samiha Singh, and I am thrilled to be serving as the President of the . We would like to invite you to check out our society in the upcoming semester! We host a ton of different events whether it's on a Tuesday or a special event on another date. We try to host events during both time frames so if someone has class on Tuesday they can still meet their member requirements. Some of our events are socially focused where we get together to do fun things like decorating cookies, carving pumpkins, making bath bombs, doing yoga, or other fun events. We also host professional development events so this looks more like resume reviews, interview tips, panels with women in the industry, or financial advice seminars. Finally, we also work with local schools to host outreach events. This can be with elementary, middle, and high school-aged kids. I like these the best because it's really fun to introduce kids to problem-solving and easy engineering experiments. Additionally, we have some fundraising events throughout the semester that support SWE.Ìý

At the beginning of the year, we will be at many of the different welcome events so feel free to reach out and ask any questions you might have. We will be kicking off the year with our annual SWE Week, followed by regular meetings throughout the year. I would definitely recommend joining our , as all of our events will be shared there. We also have , Ìý²¹²Ô»å if you'd rather stay updated in that way.

Feel free to reach out to me, Samiha Singh, at cuswepresident@gmail.com if you have any questions, ideas for the organizationÌýor anything you feel the college is not providing for you as a womxn engineering student. We look forward to meeting you soon.Ìý

Sincerely,

Samiha Singh and the SWE Board
