My career path: After graduating from CU on an ROTC scholarship with an Aerospace Engineering degree, I started a 25-year Army career that allowed me to lead Soldiers in Europe and World-Wide Missions to support The National Defense Strategy. As an Army Engineer Officer, I oversaw Airfield Construction Projects, Rapid Runway Repair as well as supporting Army Divisions in Combat Operations. In the middle of my military career, I choose to become an Operations Research Analyst where I improved combat models and simulations, formulated processes to improve material delivery to combat theaters, and developed databases to plan and track military spending for major defense acquisition programs. After retiring from active military service, the Army hired me as a Program Analyst for Army Test & Evaluation enterprise, Science & Technology investments, and Air & Missile Defense programs.
My interest in becoming a Regional Network Ambassador: During my first career in the Army and while starting my second, I realized the value of a CU College of Engineering & Applied Science education and more importantly, the talent within the network of students and graduates. I want to help nurture and grow that network and promote the University of Colorado within the National Capital Region.
