German learners from Cherry Creek HS, Broomfield HS, Rocky Mountain HS, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ HS, and Shining Mountain Waldorf HS explored the CU campus on February 28, 2018 as part of the German Language Immersion Day. High school students found their chakra in a German yoga session, tested their knowledge on German art, music, and popular culture in a game of Jeopardy, and went on a German campus tour in which they learned about the university’s history, areas of study, and campus life. Their German learning experience on campus was further enriched by Q&A sessions with German Deputy Consul, Peter Schmitt, and German Honorary Consul, Paul Maricle, on current issues and the work of the German Foreign Office and Missions abroad. On their campus visit, high schoolers were immersed in the German language and encouraged to continue studying the language and about its cultures.
