2010 Jacob Van Ek Scholar Award

Humanities major Emily Lozow is a recipient of the 2010 Jacob Van Ek Scholar Award. This award is given by the College of Arts and Sciences in recognition of superior academic achievement and distinguished service to the university or community at large.

Emily has received a number of academic honors in the past, including the Katherine Jacob Lamont Scholarship from the Department of Humanities and being named to the Dean’s List for all 5 semesters she has spent at CU.

Emily’s political involvement in the community is extensive. She is currently an intern to State Senator Joyce Foster and put in countless hours for the Hillary Clinton for President campaign. Emily is also a volunteer in the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ community, involved in BoldeReach and K’vod Catering which serves food to the homeless through Temple Emanuel.

Upon completion of her undergraduate degree in Humanities, Emily hopes to use her political background to pursue law school or graduate school  to effectively advocate for the issues she is passionate about.
