Your helpers

Lab, field, & office equipment such as instrumentation and furniture - Email Patti Newton (Operations Manager) at instaarproperty@colorado.edu about tagging, tracking, and disposing of this kind of equipment.

Laptop and desktop computers and other computing hardware - Email Chad Stoffel (INSTAAR IT Director) about tagging, tracking, and disposing of all computing hardware.

Tagging and tracking of CU capital equipment

Capital equipment purchased with University and/or sponsor funds needs to be tagged and tracked. In general, this includes all computers as well as lab and field equipment (such as instrumentation) that cost over $5000. Office equipment does not need to be tagged and tracked. Each item should have a CU-assigned, machine-readable tag number, identifying the equipment as either CU-titled or Government-titled. Patti and Chad will help set up tagging and tracking of your equipment.

Disposal of used equipment

When your used equipment has reached end of life, Patti and Chad will help send it to CU's Property Services disposal unit for environmentally thoughtful disposal or recycling.
