Provides high level budgetary, financial, policy, and administrative support to the Chair. Primarily responsible for oversight and policy related to department operations including, finance, human resources, and business operations. Engages in long-term strategic projects, planning in consultation with the Chair and Associate Chair in addition to supervising business office staff.

Lucas grew up in Arvada, Colorado before attending the University of Colorado, ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ where he received a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology.  Lucas began working at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in 2015 at the Financial Service Center before becoming a Finance and Accounting Professional with Chemical and Biological Engineering, and then the Finance and Business Operations Manager with Integrative Physiology.  Prior to working at CU, Lucas worked hands on in medical research, and as a marine biologist at both the Denver Zoo and Aquarium.  His favorite part about working at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ is supporting the many incredible faculty, researchers, and students that contribute so much to their respective fields.  Lucas closely follows many of the research projects within IPHY and the grater CU community.  Some of Lucas’ research interests include Biology and Immunology, Psychology, and Aerospace Engineering.
