Chelsea Wilson Miller, (B.A., International Affairs, and Jewish StudiesÌýValedictorianÌýand Minor, 2014)Ìýreceived a fellowship award from the CUNY School of Law's , which is a fellowship that aims to equip law students withÌýinternational experience and expertise to become leaders in the field of international law.Ìý
With this fellowship, Chelsea will be working with theÌýUnited Nations to complete a three month summer internship in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) at The Hague, The Netherlands. She will depart on May 20thÌýto begin her internship.
The is a United Nations court of law dealing with war crimes that took place during the conflicts in the Balkans in the 1990’s. ChelseaÌýfirst became interested in post-genocide work from herÌýcourses in the Jewish Studies program at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. SheÌýstudied gender-based violence in genocides and mass traumas in herÌýcoursework at CU. Equipped with a minor in Jewish Studies and a major in International Affairs, ChelseaÌýwrites that "I went on to pursue a Juris Doctor in public international law from the premier public interest law school in the United States: The .ÌýI chose CUNY because of their , where I hope to continue learning about eradicating violence against women globally."
