On March 2, the Program in Jewish Studies hosted its second annual Hebrew Shmooze-A-Palooza, a musical celebration of the Hebrew and Yiddish classes at CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. Lead byÌýEyal Rivlin, Hebrew Instructor at CU, students prepared musical arrangements in Biblical Hebrew, Modern Hebrew, and Yiddish and performed them for their fellow classmates, prospective Hebrew students, and CU faculty. Rivlin, an accomplished musician,Ìýand a handful of local ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ musiciansÌýaccompanied the student performers.
This event exemplifies Prof. Rivlin's creative pedagogical approach:Ìýencouraging students to learn language through music, which helps students retain their language learning skills and makes learning Hebrew fun!ÌýCheck out the fun below in a few of our photos from the event!
