I received funding to participate in the Yiddish Book Center's one week remote immersive Yiddish language instruction and culture program. In addition to beginning Yiddish language classes, participants attended workshops and concerts to learn about Yiddish books, music, and the center's vast collections.Ìý
I also received funds in support of a creative, public facing project to develop a children's book. In coming months, I will research my family's narrative of migration (European Jews to New York in the late 19th century), explore parallels with historical migration patterns of the period, and write a narrative for middle-grade readers based on this research.
