Hours: 30 hours throughout the semester (hybrid: depending on student mobility) or 1  credit for 48 hours work.

the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Symphony Music Academy:

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Symphony Music Academy is the community music school associated with the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Symphony. The two sides of our organization share some elements—namely, several of our teachers are members of the symphony and our symphony programming incorporates educational elements. Therefore, while this intern will primarily work on the academy side, they will likely also assist with some symphony events and operations.

Internship Overview:

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Symphony & Music Academy (BS&MA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate intern to work closely with our Director of Education and Community Outreach, Bridget Ryan. This hands-on internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in arts administration, community engagement, and intercultural competence while supporting the academy's operations and outreach efforts.

Details regarding the exact tasks and commitment are determined after meeting with supervisor Bridget Ryan and depend on the student’s availability, interests and skills. However they will likely include day-to-day operations at BSMA, including lesson (re-)scheduling, scholarship program support, outreach planning, and communication with instructors and families (15 hrs). The intern’s remaining time will be spent on event coordination and operations, including symphony concerts, Curiosity Concerts, and the BSMA Spring Recital (15 hrs)

Key Responsibilities:

Day to day operations: Assist in scheduling music academy students and coordinating scholarship support.

Community Events Support: Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of symphony concerts, Curiosity Concert, and BSMA Spring Recital.

Qualifications:

· Current undergraduate student

· Strong interest in the arts and community engagement.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
