Summer Job Spotlight: Colleen Garcia

The summer months serve as an excellent opportunity for our Law Buffs to dive into their areas of interest and take on summer work that helps them develop their legal skills. In this series, we are thrilled to highlight just a few of our rising 2L and 3L students and learn more about what they are up to this summer.

This week, we are highlighting Colleen Garcia ‘26, who is working as a legal intern for the Denver Broncos this summer.

Why were you interested in this role?

CG: I got the opportunity to work for the Broncos by participating in the Colorado Pledge to Diversity Program. I was excited at the chance to see the legal landscape in professional sports, as this was the first year the Broncos decided to take on an intern.

What has your day-to-day been like so far?

CG: In my day-to-day, I assist the legal department by reviewing commercial contracts, sponsorship agreements, and conducting policy research for the organization.

What has been your favorite part of working for Broncos?

CG: So far, my favorite part of the job is receiving projects from all different departments as well as the exposure to the role of media and community outreach. In addition, it’s been so fun to get to be a part of an organization that has such a large role in the Colorado community.

What do you hope to learn in this role?

CG: I hope to learn about the breadth of transactional work as an in-house counsel and the intersection of sports law and business. I’m also determined to come out of this experience with a deeper understanding of football!

Besides work, what are you looking forward to this summer?

CG: Other than my internship, I hope to spend time with friends and family who come to visit, travel, and finally start exploring Colorado before the fall semester begins.
