Finland's Minister of Justice Anna-Maja Henriksson visited the University of Colorado Law School on Dec. 12 to discuss the situation of indigenous peoples in the U.S. with Colorado Law and CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ faculty and community partners.

Margot E. Kaminski, associate professor of law at the University of Colorado Law School, received the 10th Annual Privacy Papers for Policymakers (PPM) Award from the Future of Privacy Forum. This award recognizes leading privacy scholarship that is relevant to policymakers in the U.S. Congress, at U.S. federal agencies, and for data protection authorities abroad.

Attorneys, compliance professionals, and entrepreneurs will deepen their knowledge of legal and business topics this summer through the University of Colorado Law School’s new Executive Education courses. This summer's offerings include two courses on ethics and compliance and a course focused on cannabis entrepreneurship.

The Hon. Kathleen Croshal (nee Winters) ('79) describes her path as a law student as "untraditional." Croshal grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and worked in theater management prior to law school. Her passion for her community is the driving force behind her career and also a motivator of her time spent in nonprofit work, including as current president of the Colorado Bar Association.

The Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment at the University of Colorado Law School has raised $840,000 to launch a first-of-its-kind fellows program that will train the next generation of natural resource leaders.

University of Colorado Law School Associate Professor Ming Hsu Chen was one of 13 faculty members across the CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ campus selected to participate in the Research & Innovation Office's (RIO) 2020 Faculty Fellows cohort. The Faculty Fellows program supports CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s most promising faculty in achieving their research goals and promotes collaboration by "shrinking the campus."

An interdisciplinary team led by the Samuelson-Glushko Technology Law and Policy Clinic at the University of Colorado Law School, in partnership with Dr. Scott E. Palo and CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, had a role in influencing groundbreaking national policy for small satellites at the Federal Communications Commission.

As an incoming law student, Vanessa Cortez ('20) didn’t have many connections to the legal profession. Relationships built at Colorado Law and beyond helped Cortez grow her support network and advance toward her goal of helping Coloradans in need.

The fireside-chat style event was moderated by Provost Professor of Civil Rights Law and Director of the White Center Suzette Malveaux.
