Associate Professor of Musicology Brenda Romero is the recipient of a book contract for the Folklore Studies for a Multicultural World Series, a Mellon initiative with the American Folklore Society, the University of Illinois Press, University of Wisconsin Press, and University of Minnesota Press. ÌýA national competition, they chose 6 authors. ÌýHer proposalÌýThe Transcultural Matachines, Creativity and Renewal in the AmericasÌýwas one of only six selected. ÌýIt will be published by the University of Illinois Press.
