Elle Tyler is a musician, educator and composer who believes that people of all ages and abilities can engage in a musical life. She currently serves as the director of creativity and is a member of the piano faculty at Parlando School of Musical Arts. She has also worked as a collaborative pianist at Metropolitan State University.
Tyler has presented workshops on communication in teaching and early childhood music readiness at local, state and national levels. She has served as the chair of community outreach, education and public relations, the vice president of student activities and the Rising Stars Festival chair for the Colorado State Music Teachers Association.
Tyler teaches her students to be active listeners who can find, diagnose and overcome their own musical obstacles. In addition to building a strong foundation in musical literacy, Tyler incorporates playing by ear, reading and arranging lead sheets, improvising and music theory into her lessons. She actively performs in a variety of mediums, from solo classical piano to musical theater to folk. As a composer, her works have been featured on stage in ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, New York and Dallas/Fort Worth.
Tyler is excited to return to her alma mater as an instructor. She earned a master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in 2013.
