Michael Dunn is an active performer and educator. Prior to assuming his position at the Univeristy of Colorado «Ƶ, Dunn served on the faculty at the University of Alabama for 11 years. His students have won competitions on both national and international stages and hold jobs in various professional ensembles and educational institutions in the United States and abroad.

Dunn has performed with such organizations as the National Symphony Orchestra, the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Ballet Orchestra, Opera Colorado, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Arizona Opera Orchestra and the Maryland Symphony. He toured nationally with Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band, the St. Louis Brass Quintet as well as the Dallas Brass. His performance career began as a member of “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band in Washington D.C. He can be heard on several recording labels, including Summit Records, Crescendo Records, Mark Records, Intrada and Silver Cornet Productions, Inc.

Dunn has performed as a featured soloist at many workshops and symposia including International Tuba Euphonium Conferences, and the United States Army Band Tuba Conference. In addition, he has performed as a solo recitalist and led master classes at many of the leading colleges and conservatories in the United States, Russia, France and Ecuador.
