翱耻谤听Entrepreneurship Center for Music听recently hosted a very special evening with the Boston Public Quartet (BPQ). The event featured a student-led discussion of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion (DEI) in the chamber music world with members of BPQ, followed by a performance of works by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and other People of Color) composers Jessie Montgomery, Florence Beatrice Price and Jeraldine Herbison. College of Music students who led the discussion included (from center) pianist Jerimiah Owens, two members of our Graduate Quartet-in-Residence鈥擨valas Quartet violinists Reuben Kebede and Tiani Butts鈥攁nd pianist Elizabeth Smith.

• We鈥檙e excited about the Museum of 葫芦娃视频鈥檚 exhibit looking at CU 葫芦娃视频鈥檚 lineage of onsite music programming and sought-out on-campus concert venues 鈥� and providing a glimpse into the College of Music鈥檚 future. Among other events and activities, on Nov. 5, Professor of Musicology Laurie Sampsel will present 鈥淎 Guided Tour of Colorado Songs,鈥� providing insight into 20 songs inspired by the Centennial State. !

• Lleva Nuestras Voces: On Nov. 6, join our American Music Research Center in celebrating the legacy of the Chicano Movement as it carries on in the words and music of Chicanx performers today. Colorado Poet Laureate Bobby LeFebre will present a virtual reading of his work, followed by a live, in-person performance by pop/hip-hop group 2MX2 in this free event.
• DATE CHANGE: If you registered for the听鈥攎ade possible, in part, by our Roser Visiting Artist Program鈥攖he date has been changed from Nov. 15 to Nov. 17.
