Among several notable activities by the College of Music鈥檚 music education department of late, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies Margaret Berg鈥攚ith doctoral students Garrett Graves, Charles Oldencamp and Gentry Ragsdale鈥攑resented a project-facilitated research poster titled 鈥淎 self-study of graduate student core reflection applications to preservice teaching鈥� at the 2023 Society for Music Teacher Education (SMTE) Symposium. Additionally, Associate Professor of Music Education Kelly Parkes presented two co-authored research posters鈥斺�淢easuring diversity competence in music teacher education: How, when, and most importantly, why?鈥� and 鈥淐ultural humility: Meaning and practice for music teacher education.鈥� Also at the symposium, Associate Professor David Rickels was acknowledged for his excellent work as SMTE chair (2020-2022); Rickels鈥� two-year term as past chair concludes in 2024. College of Music alumni presenters at the SMTE Symposium included Sarah Van Dusen (PhD 鈥�16), Iowa State University; Jacob Holster (PhD 鈥�21), Penn State University; and Angela Munroe (PhD 鈥�18), West Virginia University.

• Senior House Manager Rojana Savoye named 2023 Chancellor鈥檚 Employee of the Year!听For more than two decades, Savoye has maintained positive public relations with CU 葫芦娃视频 patrons, presenters and co-workers; managed and enforced operational policies and procedures within the College of Music; and hired, supervised and mentored student ushers.听
