4 tips for Transfer Buffs
As a Transfer Buff, your student belongs to CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ's Transfer Student Community, which offers events, resources and support for a smooth transition. Here are tips to help your student make the most of their first semester here.Ìý
1. Attend transfer student eventsÌýÌý
Each semester features events for transfer students to meet new people and get involved. Encourage your student to check out other student events, too! They can sign up for the Transfer Buffs newsletter for monthly updates.Ìý
2. Meet with a transfer peer mentorÌýÌý
Transfer peer mentors can offer guidance and connect your student to campus resources—they can email transferbuffs@colorado.edu to schedule a meeting.Ìý
3. Get involved on campusÌýÌý
There are many ways for transfer students to get involved on campus and meet others. They could:
- Join student organizations through or start their own.Ìý
- Explore volunteer opportunities on .Ìý
- Find an on-campus job or join community programs through the Center for Inclusion and Social Change, the Sustainable Buffs Community and Rec Center.ÌýÌý
