Sylvie oversees operations for a portfolio of 400 education abroad programs in 60 countries. The EA team sends 2,000 students abroad annually for academic credit. Sylvie provides overall leadership of the education abroad operation and services, and serves as an advocate for education abroad on campus. Her responsibilities include strategic planning and policy development, collaboration with academic departments, program development and evaluation, crisis and risk management, finance and budgeting, and cross-campus collaboration on Education Abroad initiatives.
Sylvie has worked in Education Abroad at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ since 1994 in various capacities, including in her most recent position as Senior Associate Director. She has a Master’s degree in French Literature from the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, and a Master’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages (Maîtrise - Langues Etrangères Appliquées) from the Université de Savoie in Chambéry, France. Sylvie regularly presents at professional conferences in education abroad, and has served/serves on advisory boards in the field. She co-authored The Forum on Education Abroad’s Guidelines for Good Business Partnerships in Education Abroad (2019).
