McMurdo Field Camps: Behind the Scenes

Zoom call from a camp on Lake Fryxell, a frozen lake 4.5 kilometers long, between Canada Glacier and Commonwealth Glaciers at the lower end of Taylor Valley in Victoria Land, Antarctica. Scientist, Krista Myers, explained the MCM LTER and her job as a technician. She showed the group the field camp and all of the buildings, solar power system, labs and surroundings. She shared the challenges of collecting climate data and why it's so important to maintain long term datasets.
