Briana Aboulache

Briana graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2017 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After college, she moved to New York and worked as an EMT, a substitute teacher, and a research associate in Dr. Vern Schramm’s Lab studying Clostridium difficile. Now, Briana is a 5th year graduate student in the Luger Lab at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ where she researches how proteins interact with DNA. When not pipetting, Briana enjoys anything and everything teaching related. She has been with S.C.O.P.E. since the begininning (2020) is currently serves as the president.

Outside of research and teaching, Briana enjoys obsessing over/spoiling her three cats, Lily (pictured), Josie, and Rex. She also is a big fan of cooking, yoga, and trying to keep plants alive. In the future, Briana hopes to work as a teacher, developing curriculum and lessons that inspire others to think critically and scientifically to make sense of the world around them.
