Spring 2024 Political Science Graduation


The Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony for the Department of Political Science at CU «Ƶ will take place on Friday, May 10th at 2:00 PM MST in the Macky Auditorium. The ceremony will last approximately three hours. A reception will follow in the Tent located on the Sewall Lawn located east of the auditorium. 

Please arrive by 1:45 PM at the latest to check-in. Graduates are expected to arrive at EATON HUMANITIES to line up for the graduation procession. We will leave at 1:50 PM, graduates who are late are not guaranteed a seat.

A reception will follow the ceremony and last until 4:00 PM MST

Graduating Seniors need to show up at EATON HUMANITIES, not Macky Auditorium by 1:45 PM at the latest. We will be lining up and processing from HUMN to Macky at 1:50 PM.

Be sure you are aware of and have completed the provided by commencement.

Cap and gown are not required by the PSCI department, however, if you would like to wear them you can find more information about cap and gown rentals here

You may decorate your cap for the ceremony.

Diploma covers will be distributed at the ceremony. Your official diploma will be mailed to your permanent address on file with CU «Ƶ.

Graduates are expected to update family and friends about graduation details.

Upon arrival, we’ll have you write your full name as you would like it to be read when you receive your diploma cover.

An RSVP is not required to participate in the PSCI ceremony, but it is highly encouraged. This will help us for planning purposes to ensure that enough seats are available for family and friends who will be attending.

Tickets are not given out for this event, and all attendees are welcome! Your graduate should try to give us their best estimate for their expected guest count while filling out the RSVP so we can most accurately plan to provide enough seating for guests.

The doors to the auditorium will open at 1:00. Please do not enter prior to this time, as it may cause delays in setting up and starting the ceremony.

All email communications regarding our graduation ceremony are sent to our students' email accounts (colorado.edu only). It is the responsibility of the student to inform and/or share with their families and friends.

All campus parking lots will be open on a “space available” basis for public parking during commencement. Parking on campus, including at parking meters and pay station lots is FREE on the day of Commencement and on all Recognition Ceremony Days.
