Jacopo is a 3rd year PhD student in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (ATOC) at the University of Colorado - ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ working with Prof. Donata Giglio. He is currently investigating the impact of hurricane strength tropical cyclones on upper ocean properties (temperature, salinity, potential density, and mixed layer properties) using Argo floats data and Argovis innovative capabilities, as well as ocean reanalysis data. His second research project aims to estimate variability, trends and spatial distributions of Marine Heat Waves in the Pacific Ocean by leveraging ECCO, which provides the best possible estimates of ocean circulation and role in climate by combining state-of-the-art ocean circulation models with global ocean data sets. He grew up in Milan (Italy) where he graduated from the University of Milano-Bicocca, with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences and Technologies. In his free time, he loves running, hiking and, of course, cooking!
