My name is Grace Wiley, and I am a senior at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ studying Media Production with a minor in Information Sciences. I enjoy all types of artwork and try to combine my love for art and my love for film. Being from Colorado has a major influence on my creative works, as I love the outdoors and snowboarding. In the future, I would love to work in the animation industry, combining drawing and film.

In this mixed-media short film, the viewer explores the relationship between nature and technology. While visualizing objects of nature—leaf veins, streams and root systems— hand-drawn digital elements are overlaid to reveal their interesting symmetry and resemblance to human-designed structures like circuits, grids, and networks. The film changes from micro to meso scale, exemplifying how small, natural elements reflect larger technological systems. This project asks: Can the natural and the technological be seen as reflection? Showing a shared language of connection and design?
