Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Graduation FAQ

  • The commencement ceremony is the campuswide ceremony in which students from all colleges and schools participate. The chancellor of the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ campus officially confers degrees upon graduating students at this ceremony.
  • Recognition ceremonies are celebrations of individual student achievement. This is where graduating students have their names called and receive their diploma cover as they cross the stage. 

Make sure you have submitted your graduation application. If you have, then the next step is to check your email’s spam folder. If you still do not see an email to RSVP, please contact Sadie Halnier (sadie.halnier@colorado.edu) for assistance.

For PSYC & NRSC graduation ceremonies, we ask that you pick one to attend, whether that be in the Fall or Spring. You are welcome to attend the campus-wide ceremony in the Spring no matter which PSYC & NRSC ceremony you attend.

Yes, the Spring Psychology and Neuroscience recognition ceremony will be livestreamed. The link will be posted to our website the week of May 10th.

If a graduate is awarded graduation cords and/or medals, they will be contacted by the department/organization/school that awards the cord. Please refer to this academic regalia page and contact the respective office if you have questions about cords, medals, etc.

No tickets are required for the Psychology and Neuroscience recognition ceremony.

There is no limit to how many guests can attend.

The CU Events Center has a  that we will continue to enforce the day of the ceremony. If you plan to bring a bag, it must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, and no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. CU Events Center does not allow backpacks, diaper bags and other bags. Lockers are available onsite.

ADA parking is available along Regent Drive in front of the CU Events Center. ADA placard must be visible.
