Dear [first],
Since you're taking one or more Fall 2020 classes for no credit, we wanted to let you know about a recent process update that affects how you'll change to and from no credit in the future.
Taking a class for no credit means that you'll pay tuition for the class but won't earn a grade or credit hours. The class also won't fulfill degree requirements or count toward your enrollment totals for enrollment status or financial aid. If you're a graduate student, you cannot use these credits towards your TA/RA appointment.
As of Aug. 20, the no-credit option (NC/audit) has been removed from standard and beta registration. From now on:
- To change a student-option class to no credit, first register for the class as letter grade or pass/fail, then submit a to change it to no credit.
- To cancel a no-credit request and change the class back to letter grade or pass/fail, select that option on the no-credit request form.
For step-by-step instructions, see the no-credit section of our Edit Your Class Options page.
Remember, the deadline to submit a Fall 2020 no-credit request is Friday, Sept. 11 (prorated for special sessions). This is also the last day to change a no-credit class back to letter grade or pass/fail.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
