- As a student at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, it's important to understand your rights regarding access to and disclosure of information in your education record.
- This is especially important if you're located outside of Colorado and/or you won't be on campus while taking classes.
- You are receiving this letter because the Office of the Registrar is complying with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a federal student privacy law that requires advance notification before records concerning students are provided in response to any subpoena.
- You elected full privacy by submitting a FERPA nondisclosure form. To protect your information, CU is required by federal law to follow strict procedures when talking about your education record.

- According to our records, we haven't yet received a final official transcript from one or more of the colleges or universities you previously attended. As a result, the Office of Admissions has placed a hold on your record that will prevent you from enrolling in the spring semester.
- Even if you aren't a current financial aid recipient, these upcoming changes may affect you if you've previously borrowed federal student loans or if you choose to apply for aid in a future term.
- To foster diversity, equity and inclusion, CU systems allow you to indicate your gender identity, name pronunciation, preferred name, pronouns and/or sexual orientation, if you choose.
- To resolve this issue, submit an SSN/TIN update form and a copy of your SSN or TIN card to the Office of the Registrar by mail or secure document upload by 5Â p.m. on March 12, 2021.
- If you live off campus, please update and provide your local address. This will help with contact tracing, so that we can limit the spread of COVID-19 to your friends, family and community.
