Pivot-RP
Pivot-RP
is a web-based suite of tools used to identify funding opportunities and potential collaborators across all disciplines. It is freely available to all faculty, postdocs, staff and students at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.
With intelligent mapping features, Pivot-RP simplifies the discovery and dissemination of funding opportunities and fosters collaboration. Pivot-RP makes connecting the right opportunities with the right people easy.
Create a Pivot-RP Profile
We recommend that you first create a Pivot-RP profile, as this will allow you to receive weekly email alerts of any updates or new opportunities that are added to your saved searches. You will also be able to share your search queries with colleagues and access Pivot-RP from an off-campus computer. In addition, other investigators with Pivot-RP profiles can identify you as a potential collaborator.

Pivot-RP Overview
Funding Opportunities
Pivot-RP's main feature is connecting you with available funding opportunities. These opportunities include the sponsor, funding category (keywords), amount, application requirements and deadlines, and where to find more information.
Tracking
Pivot-RP enables you to track opportunities. You can mark highly relevant opportunities, ones that you are actively dealing with, as active. Tracking an opportunity enables you to receive updates when the opportunity changes and to get personal reminders about the opportunity's deadlines.
Sharing
With Pivot-RP you can also:
- Share opportunities with fellow collaborators
- Browse opportunities shared with you
- Create alerts to be notified when new opportunities that match certain criteria are added to Pivot-RP
Log in to Pivot-RP
- Select Use login for my institution. Choose University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ from the list
- Log in with your Identikey username and password
Create an account
Create an account to access the full suite of tools available to you.
- Enter your first and last name and Identikey email address
- Read and agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions of use
- Select Get Started
Claim or create your profile
Finish your account setup by creating or claiming a profile for your account. The details in your profile:
- Enable Pivot-RP to provide opportunities relevant to your research interests
- Can be viewed by other users at institutions that use Pivot-RP
Create a profile
If there are no matching profiles, press the Search Profiles or Create Profile button.
Pivot-RP will search for your name and display any matching profiles. You can review any profiles that match your name or:
Press Create your Profile. The Create your Profile process will open in a new Browser tab.
- Confirm under which names you have published
- Confirm your Identikey email address
- Add details about your CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ affiliation such as Department, Role, etc.
Press the Finish button. Your profile will be linked to your account. You can now edit your Profile or close the Browser tab.

Editing your profile will enable Pivot-RP to provide you with relevant opportunities and enable other users to review your profile for collaboration opportunities.
Keep your profile up-to-date by linking your profile to your ORCID profile and Web of Science Researcher ID. Details such as publications, grants and links can also be added.
Edit your profile
- Press the Home button (House icon) in the menu
- Select My Profile in the My Profile & Groups box
- Press the Edit Profile button. Your Profile will open in a new Browser tab
Link your ORCID profile
On your Profile Overview screen:
- Press the Add button in the ORCID section
- Press Get or associate an ORCID ID
- Press Sign In to add your CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ-linked ORCID ID to complete the process
Link your Web of Science Researcher ID
On your Profile Overview screen:
- Press the Add button in the WOS ResearcherID section
- Paste your Researcher ID
- Press Add to finish
Add keywords
On the Profile Overview screen:
- Press the Add button in the Keywords section
- Select categories or subcategories matching your research interest. Selected items appear below
- Press Save to finish

You can find, track, tag, and share funding opportunities. Save your searches to receive relevant weekly updates on funding opportunities.
Ways to search
Press the Funding button to search for opportunities. Search by all fields, search by funder, search by keyword, or use Advanced Search.
Using Advanced Search
On the Funding page, press the Advanced Search button. Enter search details into the:
- Find opportunities matching section - things to include
- Exclude the opportunities matching section
Use the search fields such as Funder, Deadlines, Activity Location, and Keywords to specify searches.
Keywords
In either section:
- Use the Keywords section to match searches to your research interests
- Press Browse to select keywords from a list for more accurate results
Refine and save your searches
From the Search Funding Results screen, you can refine your results so they are more relevant to you.
Refine your results with search filters
Apply filters such as Recently Added, Deadline Certainty, Funding types, etc. to refine your searches.
Save your search results
Save your searches to allow you to re-run or refine them at any time. Stay up-to-date on any new opportunities by choosing to receive weekly email alerts for your searches.
- Press the Save Search button
- Enter a descriptive name for your search
- Choose whether you wish to receive weekly email alerts of new results (you can change this by managing your saved searches)
- Press Save to finish
There is no limit to the number of searches you can have.
Manage saved searches
Select the Home button (House icon) > Saved Searches:
- Select the search title run the search and view the new results or all results
- Press the Options button for search to:
- Share
- Rename
- Edit
- Add tags
- View archived results
- Turn off the alert email
- Delete the search.

After searching you can view opportunity details and track, share, tag and export opportunities.
View Funding Opportunity details
Select an opportunity from your Funding Search Results to view:
- More information on the source website
- Opportunity details, eligibility information and upcoming deadlines
- The email address for the Funding Contact Person
Track or share an opportunity
- Press Track to add the opportunity to your Tracked Opportunities. Once you track an opportunity you can also categorise it by adding tags
- Press Share to email an opportunity to a colleague or a group you have created
Bulk track, share, tag or export opportunities
On your Search Funding Results page, use checkboxes to select multiple opportunities.
- Press Track to add the opportunity to your Tracked Opportunities:
- Select or create new tags
- Choose whether or not to be emailed updates
- Press Share to email the opportunities to colleagues
- Press Export to export to HTML, Excel or MS Word
View tracked, tagged, shared, and received opportunities
Click the Home button and then:
- Tracked to view your tracked opportunities
- Use the Tags filter in the menu to view your tagged tracked opportunities
- Shared - opportunities you have shared in the last 60 days
- Received - opportunities that have been shared with you that you can review, track or dismiss.

Use the Profiles area to view researcher profiles and find collaborators. You can view CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ researcher profiles, search researcher profiles (including from other institutions using Pivot-RP), or update your profile (see ).
View CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ researcher profiles
- Press Profiles in the menu
- Select the View profiles to link to view profiles for a Faculty or Institute
Search for profiles
Enter a keyword to search or use the Advanced Search button to find profiles from institutions that use Pivot-RP.
View individual profiles
Select Individual profiles to view their available profile information which may include:
- An overview of expertise, affiliations and qualifications
- Publications
- Awarded grants
- An email contact
Create groups for sharing opportunities
When viewing a list of profiles:
- Select profiles using its checkbox
- Press the Add to group button
- Give the group a name and description
- Press Save
View, edit, or delete groups or group members
Manage your groups by visiting the Home page. Press the Groups link in the My Profile & Groups box.

- Select grants from your result to view grant details
