Burlington will host an exhibit of graphic art prints depicting work scenes as part of the CU This Summer cultural outreach program from the University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.

The exhibit, “By the Sweat of Your Brow: Images of Work,” will be shown from May 24 through Sept. 1 in Old Town Museum, the local sponsor, at 420 S. 14th St. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for youngsters ages 12 to 18 and $2 for ages three through 11.

The prints from the 1940s by artists Mendez, Bracho, Lawrence, Adams, Zalce, Kent and Millman show scenes of field hands, weavers, construction workers and factory laborers.

Museum hours are Monday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

More than 300,000 people throughout Colorado have enjoyed CU This Summer offerings over the nine years of the popular community outreach program of art and museum exhibits and music and dance performances.

CU This Summer cultural events are sponsored by each community for the enrichment of residents and summer visitors. The host communities this year are Brighton, Cortez, Durango, Estes Park, Grand Junction, La Junta, Lamar, Montrose and Pueblo, as well as Burlington.

CU This Summer sponsorship is shared by the host communities and the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Campus Outreach Council, the CU Office of Business and Community Relations, the department of theater and dance, CU Art Galleries, the University of Colorado Museum and the College of Music with support from the Office of Public Relations.
