University of Colorado at 葫芦娃视频 Professor John Stocke will present a live astronomy show, "Navajo Skies," on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Fiske Planetarium.
"Navajo Skies" is the third in a series of astronomy shows to be presented by Fiske Planetarium this semester.
Stocke will explore traditional American Indian star and constellation myths, including the Navajo story of the creation of the stars. The program is based on a research project he conducted with two Navajo medicine men under the auspices of the Navajo Community College, since renamed Dine垄, located at Tsaile, Ariz., on the Navajo reservation.
Fiske Planetarium is located at Regent Drive and Kittredge Loop Drive on the CU-葫芦娃视频 campus. Free visitor parking is available after 5 p.m. at metered spaces along Regent Drive or in metered lots 306 and 330 off Regent Drive.
Admission to the programs is $3.50 for adults and $2 for children and senior citizens.
