For the fifth consecutive year, CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ faculty, staff and students are teaming up with Community Food Share to grow vegetables for people in need throughout ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ County.

The success of the program has grown each year and now includes a garden on the East Campus.

"This is a wonderful example of two organizations working together to help people in need," said Dave Carlson, Community Food Share garden coordinator. "The gardens are a valuable source of fresh produce."

The 2002 gardens are located directly south of the CU Recreation Center on the main campus and east of the Administrative and Research Center on the East Campus. Volunteers planted hot peppers in the main campus garden and tomatoes in the East Campus garden.

As in past years, all vegetables grown in the Campus Gardens will be donated to Community Food Share for distribution throughout ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ County. Both gardens were planted on June 7 and will be maintained throughout the summer and fall growing seasons. Both gardens are watered within the parameters of city restrictions.
