Nationally recognized economists and scholars will participate in CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ's annual investment conference to be held Nov. 1-2 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colo.

The conference is not open to the public.

Presented by the Leeds School of Business Burridge Center for Securities Analysis and Valuation, the conference will address the widely publicized conflicts faced by investment banks and accounting firms, as well as more traditional investment topics.Ìý

"The annual conference links the professional and intellectual communities, reflecting the spirit of the Burridge Center," said professor Michael Stutzer, director of the center.

This year's conference topics are timely, given the regulatory and prosecutorial activity facing the industry. Stutzer said the academic and industry speakers who will address these issues are among the nation's foremost experts.ÌýÌý

Don Phillips, managing director of Morningstar Inc., an independent analysis and mutual fund tracking firm, will present the keynote address at the opening banquet on Nov. 1 at 7:15 p.m.

The conference continues on Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. with a session on the nature and extent of conflicts of interest in accounting firms and investment banks. At 10 a.m., speakers and panelists will discuss their latest research in investment strategy and valuation.

The Richard M. Burridge Center for Securities Analysis and Valuation supports the creation and dissemination of new knowledge about world financial markets through qualitative and quantitative research.Ìý
