The University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Center for Asian Studies will hold its second "Asia Day" on Saturday, March 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fleming Law Building.

The event on the CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ campus is free and open to the public and is funded by the Freeman Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Cultural activities for the day include calligraphy workshops, flower arranging, martial arts demonstrations, origami, tea ceremonies and yoga. Other festivities include music and dance from China, India and Korea and documentaries from around Asia.

Informative talks about China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam also will be held. Activities for children will include storytelling and games from China and Japan.

"This year's program is completely different from last year and will include special activities for kids. It will be a lot of fun," said Lynn Kalinauskas, associate director of the Center for Asian Studies.

Gift certificates from local shops and restaurants will be given as prizes. Asian foods also will be available to sample.

The Fleming Law Building is located at the corner of Baseline Road and Broadway and is accessed via Regent Drive.
