The city of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ has opened to ask residents and other community members about their perception and experience of ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ as a safe and welcoming community for all. The web survey follows a series of listening sessions and a phone survey conducted by the National Council on Crime & Delinquency (NCCD), a national organization that promotes just and equitable social systems for individuals, familiesÌýand communities through research, public policyÌýand practice.
The City Manager’s Office, Human Services Department and Police Department are coordinating a Community Perception Assessment in partnership with NCCD to gain a better understanding of community safety and inclusiveness as it is perceived and experienced by residents and other community members.ÌýThe results of this assessment will inform the Human Relations Commission’s 2017-18 work plan recommendations as it relates to the city’s goal of fostering a more welcoming and inclusive community.
If residents were not randomly selected to participate in the phone survey, the city is asking that community members complete the online survey to help inform future programs and services. Survey questions are available in English and Spanish, and responses will be reported in summary form only.
The survey analysis and assessment results will be included in a report submitted to the City Council this spring. The report also will be available on the .
