As we near the end of finals, I want to congratulate you on a successful semester! After going through the stress that comes with finals, I encourage you all to use some time over the next few weeks to practice self-care, relax and recharge over winter break.
Self-care can be defined as any activity that fuels the body and mind, and allows one to function more fully in daily life. Practicing self-care means doing activities that help make you feel better emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally.
Examples of self-care activities can include making a list of things you are grateful for, going on a hike or long walk outside on a nice day, reading your favorite book or watching your favorite movie, spending quality time with a good friend or loved one, indulging in some comfort food, or spending time doing a favorite hobby. Be mindful and enjoy yourself in the moment of your self-care activity—you’ve earned it!
If you’re graduating this week, congratulations! I wish you the best of luck in the future. If you are returning after winter break, I’ll see you in January.
