Grad programs earn high marks in 2020 U.S. News and World Report rankings

CU ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ currently stands among the top 25 nationally for several of its graduate-level programs, according to by U.S. News and World Report.

U.S. News does not update its rankings for every program each year. In the publication’s 2020 issue, CU ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ maintains previous rankings (from 2016 to 2019) or has taken new positions in a number of disciplines. Ranking in the top 10 nationally, these include: atomic/molecular/optical physics (2); ceramics (5); quantum physics (6); environmental law (8); aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical engineering (or Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences) (10); and physical chemistry (10).

Additionally, CU ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s graduate offerings in the following U.S. News categories rank in the teens nationally: applied math (14); physics (14); environmental/environmental health engineering (14); chemical engineering (15); education policy (15); clinical psychology (16); audiology (17); biological/agricultural engineering (17); secondary teacher education (18); and Earth sciences (19).

β€œIt’s gratifying to see so many of our graduate programs consistently receive recognition in rankings like this,” said Leslie Reynolds, interim dean of CU ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣơ’s Graduate School. β€œThis attests to the high-quality research and impactful teaching performed by our outstanding faculty, graduate students and staff.”

A handful of other CU ΊωΒ«ΝήΚΣΖ΅ schools, colleges, departments and programs are ranked in the top 25 nationally for graduate-level offerings in the categories of: civil engineering (21); elementary teacher education (22); curriculum and instruction (23); chemistry (24); and speech-language pathology (24).
